Species covered by Regulation 1143/2014 need before proposing to be risk assessed. This contract will develop the risk assessments to support the decision making of the list of IAS of Union concern, which is a legal requirement of the regulation

With the adoption of the Circular Economy Action Plan in 2020, the Commission committed to continuing its support for capacity building through guidance, training, and the dissemination of good practices. The support from a contractor is therefore essential to fulfilling these commitments.

The aim of the contract is to facilitate the monitoring of night active moths that will be undertaken by Member States in the framework of the Nature Restoration Regulation. For this purpose, the contract will: (1) improve the accuracy and species coverage of artificial intelligence-based image recognition as a means of identifying night active moths to the species level, and (2) develop capacity building activities in order to enhance the taxonomic expertise for moths in Member States, where it is currently lacking.

The general objective of this tender is to build a strong and engaged Natura 2000 community of stakeholders and citizens that supports EU policy implementation and enhances the visibility of the Commission’s actions on nature conservation, in particular: a) Establish and manage an online EU Nature Platform: a user-friendly platform to support authorities and stakeholders in implementing EU nature legislation, foster interaction and community building, and provide access to reference documents, best practices, success stories, news, and relevant activities at EU, national and regional level. b) Enhance Natura 2000 communication activities: increase awareness of the network and related EU policy objectives among the general public, improve recognition of the Natura 2000 logo, and establish a positive connection with EU nature protection efforts.

The aim of this contract is to develop a framework that will help to address: a lack of reliable information and guidance on which native plant species ought to be planted in a given location in order to maximise benefits to biodiversity and delivery of ecosystem services; a lack of reliable information on where to source such plants; and a gap in the market for supplying the plants and seeds, i.e. a lack of availability.

The objective of this tender is to select a tenderer to (i) support the European Commission to run the EU Natura 2000 Award scheme in all its facets and (ii) to raise awareness of the Natura 2000 network of protected sites and their species and of the excellent efforts of finalists and winners with the public at large.

The objective of this contract is to ensure input from and the participation of environmental NGOS, consumer NGOs and organizations representing SMEs into relevant existing & any future expert groups and any other aspects related to the Environmental Footprint (EF) methods (see below). The Environmental Footprint (EF ) Steering Committee and the Technical Advisory Board Expert Groups. The first group includes representatives of the European Commission, Member States, main stakeholder groups (environmental NGOs, consumers and SMEs) and economic sectors. The second group includes environmental footprint and life cycle assessment experts. In these expert groups other EF related aspects such as methodological choices of the EF methods or specific modelling requirements of the datasets are discussed. For supporting the potential implementation of the Green Claims Directive, the Commission may create a new expert group. The representation of the SMEs and environmental and consumer NGOs is crucial to ensure that its implementation is balanced and inclusive.

The contractor will support the EC in activities related to the implementation and development of the EU air and noise policies. The goal is to have a Framework contract that is able to provide relevant, timely and high-quality inputs for DG Environment and for other Commission Services under specific contracts throughout the duration of the Framework contract (up to 4 years).

CINEA and DG ENV require substantial external support in the following areas: 1. Monitoring of LIFE projects, including action grants and operating grants: around 1 000 grants are to be monitored across a wide thematic and geographical coverage. There is a need for an external team of monitors covering the different thematic areas and possessing knowledge of the relevant national or local contexts and languages, in order to ensure proper monitoring of the projects and to provide support where issues arise. 2. Communication on the LIFE programme and project achievements, with a view to outreach and potential replication: this includes, for example, social media, Info Days, the LIFE Awards, other ad hoc events, participation in third-party events, project news, newsletters, and publications. It should be emphasised that LIFE grants support actions at local, regional, and national level that are close to citizens and generate tangible environmental, climate and health benefits. There is therefore a significant volume of material and strong potential to promote a positive image of the EU. 3. Other related activities include policy feedback events and studies or activities, whether online or in-person, upon request from the parent DGs, namely ENV, CLIMA and ENER; annual Welcome Meetings for new projects; and support to projects aimed at facilitating commercial success.
