Electrical installations required for connection of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)

As part of the AVV Square 2.0 Project a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) shall be installed within the perimeters of the power station Avedøreværket (AVV), located in Avedøre (Hammerholmen 50, 2650 Hvidovre), Denmark. The BESS shall be integrated in the existing 11.5 kV system of the power station Avedøreværket with connection to the Point of Connection in Installation of BESS (PCI). The electrical installations between the BESS and the PCI shall consist of the following components and systems: a) BESS internal cabling between the BESS equipment units b) Cabling between the BESS and the PCI c) Cabling for communication between the BESS and the existing DCS (Distributed Control System) of AVV d) Cabling between BESS MV Switchgear and DCS & auxiliary power supply e) Cabling between Main MV Switchgear and transformer differential protection relay f) MV cable terminations g) Bonding system of MV cables incl. required equipment such as Earth Continuity Conductor (ECC – if required), Sheath Voltage Limiters (SVL – if required), link boxes (if required) h) Connection of cables to BESS MV switchgear i) Connection of cables to feeder for BESS connection at Main MV switchgear j) MV protection setting study and testing of MV protection system after installation k) Auxiliary Power Supply connection for BESS MV switchgear l) Earthing and bonding of systems and components m) Lightning Protection System n) Cable installation on cable bridges, ladders and trays including required installation material (cable bridges, ladders and trays, cable cleats) o) Cable installation (buried) in trenches and ducts p) The scope of supply includes provision of all cables including but not limited to approximately 4500 meters of 11.5 kV power cables - 1x800 mm² Al XLPE q) The scope of supply also includes: Installation and commissioning of the electrical installations as defined above at the power station Avedøreværket, located in Avedøre (Hammerholmen 50, 2650 Hvidovre), Denmark.
