• Environmental integrity

  • •The Tenderer Applications will be evaluated according to the evaluation criteria as indicated in appendix SEA Article 6 Evaluation Criteria.
  • •Environmental integrity (EI) in relation to emission reduction units is fundamental to the SEA. We define EI as:
  • •No increase in global aggregate greenhouse gas emission due to the activity and/or cooperation.
  • •This means that SEA will not consider Article 6 activities unless they
  • •(1) employ a conservative baseline
  • •(2) are additional
  • •and (3) include a Monitoring Reporting and Verification (MRV) methodology that is realistic, conservative and that prevents double counting/issuance, double claiming and double use.

• Feasibility

  • •The Tenderer Applications will be evaluated according to the evaluation criteria as indicated in appendix SEA Article 6 Evaluation Criteria.
  • •MAPs submitted to the SEA will be evaluated based on a holistic approach assessing how feasible it is that the proposed volume of Mitigation Outcomes can be generated during the crediting period

• Transformational impact

  • •The Tenderer Applications will be evaluated according to the evaluation criteria as indicated in appendix SEA Article 6 Evaluation Criteria.
  • •The SEA aims to procure activities that have the potential to enable transformational change in the host country (HC). “Transformational” is defined as contributing to systemic changes beyond the specific project results. This mainly means that the activity should contribute to the HC’s transition from a carbon-based economy to a fossil free and sustainable economy, but it also refers to the need for SDG benefits.

• Sustainable development

  • •The Tenderer Applications will be evaluated according to the evaluation criteria as indicated in appendix SEA Article 6 Evaluation Criteria.
  • •Article 6 activities that are financed by the SEA shall promote sustainable development and consider social, economic and environmental aspects as well as relevant strategies and policies outside the HC NDC. Activities shall avoid any negative environmental, economic or social impacts as well as actively contribute to the HC SD priorities and the SDGs.
