REMOVEAPP MISSION AND SYSTEM DESIGN PHASE 0 - EXPRO+

Objective:the proposed activity will provide the concepts of operations, system and programmatic assessments, and will specifically include:Mission (CONOPS) and requirements definition: redefine in detail the assumptions, the purpose and the general concept of operations (incl. storage, transport, attachment and disposal) objectives deriving consistently the system and interface requirements.Conceptual design: based on the mission definition and system requirements, a conceptual design of the RemoveApp system will be developed. This includes the basic layout of the system, the mass and size, the necessary subsystems (e.g. AOCS and propulsion)and the interfaces (e.g. mechanical, power) considering the compatibility with storage, servicer and target elements. Assumptions related with level of autonomy, design compatibility and reliability will need to be elaborated.Preliminary cost and schedule: estimate of costs and schedules is developed based on the conceptual design, and the system requirements.Risk assessment: risks associated with this development will be identified, evaluated, and assessed.Feasibility analysis: the feasibility of the concept and system design is assessed, considering technical, cost, and schedule considerations.Analysis of the commercialisation opportunities related to the mission concept and the related technologies.Deliverable Items:In addition to the documents to be delivered according to section 4.2 here above, the following items shall also be delivered. The draft version of the documentation shall be sent to the Agency's Technical Officer in electronic format not later than two (2) weeks before the documentation is to be presented.All documents shall bear the appropriate copyright notice. In all cases, this shall include the title, ESA Contract number, deliverable number, date, status (draft), version and/or revision number. The information shall be repeated consistently in the headeror footer of every page.
